News

  • SSSCA - a draft bill that would make using 'any interactive digital device that does not include and utilize certified security technologies' illegal in the U.S.

Project Reports

  • Demo - Our next demo will be at the Davis Co-Op on Saturday, Sept. 29th. The new flatscreen monitor we purchased four our demo'ing system is configured, and will premiere at this demo! Contact Henry House if you'd like to help.

  • Installfests - LUGOD, SacLUG and RoseLUG held a joint Installfest in Sacramento (in the "Nevada City" room of the Coloma Community Center) yesterday, Sept. 16th.

    Nearly 35 people showed up (about a dozen of which were there to help). 16 computers were set up, and we had DHCP networking available to get to the Internet.

  • LERT - No news.

  • Library - RedHat 7.1 Cheapbytes CDs was donated by Takashi Ishihara. Stopping Spam and PGP books were donated by Bill Alexander.

Other Business

  • Raffle and Give-Away - Takashi Ishihara gave us his copies of the Linux games "Myth II," "Heros of Might and Magic 3" and "Sim City: 3000," which we raffled away. Bill Kendrick donated his copies of "Sendmail" and the "Sendmail Ref. Guide," which were given away to the first person who wanted them.

  • Financial Report - $34.65 in voluntary dues were collected.

  • Gabe Rosa did a short demonstration of "screen."
