MEETING FACILITIES
Unless otherwise specified, LUGOD meetings are held in the
Blanchard room at the Davis Library, in
north Davis, California.
NOTE: It appears the next meeting will NOT be at the Library.
Seating capacity, network connectivity, and TV and audio capabilities may
vary!
(LUGOD owns our own projector, so it should be available no matter what.)

What follows is a description of what are made available at our meeting
facilities. This will be of interest to future speakers and presenters:
- Seating Capacity
The seating capacity of the room is approximately 150. We typically
set up seats for 30-40 people, unless we expect a much larger crowd.
There are a number of tables which we can set up (giving the room a
classroom feel) at your request.
- Video Projector
As of October 2003, LUGOD owns a projector capable of XGA
(1024x768) resolution. It can accept higher and lower resolution,
and will scale and anti-alias as needed. It accepts standard VGA and
composite video (RCA-style jack) video inputs. NOTE: It does NOT have
a VGA output! (Sharp PG-A10X "NoteVision")
- Network Connectivity
Internet access is available in the Blanchard Room, but is
restricted to HTTP (port 80) access only. (e.g., no
SSH access; no access to websites running on ports other than 80)
- Linux PCs
(Our demo computer is changing soon. Please contact us if you need
a computer and we'll try to arrange something!)
Available Upon Request:
- TV / VCR
The library has a TV/VCR which we can check out for the duration of the
meeting, if given advance notice.
- Audio System
The library has a podium which we can check out for the duration of the
meeting, if given advance notice.
