2008.07.21 Meeting Notes

Location

Davis Public Library

Project Reports

  • Demo — No news.
  • Installfests — The last IF was on July 19th. There were a few RSVPs, a number of onlookers, and there was talk of making "themed workshops". Each IF would have a different topic. This will require additional leadership (someone to pick topics, do background research, etc.) Discussion is being done on the Installfest page of DavisWiki.org. Volunteers welcome! No future IF has been scheduled, yet.
  • LERT — No news.
  • Library — No news.

Other Business

  • Upcoming Events — LinuxWorldExpo takes place August 4-7. A LUG booth will be set up in the .Org Pavillion. Contact Jim Stockford of SF-LUG if you'd like to help volunteer, and represent LUGOD or SacLUG!

Picn*x XVII, the Linux 17th anniversary picnic and BBQ takes place in Sunnyvale on Saturday, August 9th. You can now RSVP. Visit www.linuxpicnic.org.

Software Freedom Day takes place September 20th. LUGOD has held demos as part of this event in the past, most recently at the Davis Farmers Market. We will try to sign up to participate in it again this year. Watch the website for updates.
  • Financial Report — No voluntary dues were collected, but Lee Welter donated a check for $10.00.
