Invitation to IT Summit's San Francisco IT Conference

Since 2004 The IT Summit had been the premier producer of regionally focused IT conferences [http://www.theitsummit.com/" title="The IT Summit's IT Conferences] for executives from the government, education, and corporate sectors. While many IT conferences limit their focus strictly to IT personnel, The IT Summit recognizes that IT decisions affect the entire business, and that decisions made outside the IT department often have a direct impact on IT. This holistic view of IT can enhance operations by helping IT personnel to better understand how their work is perceived within the company, enables executives to better understand how their decisions impact the ability of their IT departments to serve the business or agency directly, and in turn allow the business or agency to better serve their customers and clients. The result is a broader information base from which executives can make more informed decisions.
The IT Summit is pleased that Linux Users Group of Davis has chosen to be a sponsor of The IT Summit's San Francisco IT Conference [http://www.theitsummit.com/event/san-francisco-2013/" title="The IT Summit's San Francisco IT Conference] (November 6, 2013). Seeking help with a flyer
Posted 2012-12-22 09:30:00
Bill Kendrick, who normally makes flyers for LUGOD meetings, admits he's not very artistic; at the best, his flyers are functional. So, we're looking for someone who can make a really nice flyer for our 14th anniversary meeting in January [http://www.lugod.org/meeting/]. If you can help, email Bill at firstname.lastname@example.org [mailto:email@example.com]. Thanks in advance!

Three officers elected; still seeking a treasurer
Posted 2012-11-20 11:20:00
Nominations for LUGOD's annual elections closed, and because only one member was nominated for each position, we simply held a call for objections at last night's meeting.
As there were no objections to the nominations made, Bill Kendrick remains president (root), Brian Lavender remains vice president (sys), and Andrew Roach remains secretary (typescript).
Our previous treasurer (/dev/null), Greg FitzGerald, has moved out of the area, and no other member was nominated. Therefore, we're still looking for someone to take over this position. If you'd like to nominate yourself, or another worthy member, please email firstname.lastname@example.org [mailto:email@example.com].
Nominations now being accepted for LUGOD officer positions
Posted 2012-10-17 10:15:00
As of this week's meeting, nominations are now open for LUGOD's elected officer positions: root (president), sys (vice president), typescript (secretary) and /dev/null (treasurer). If you would like to nominate yourself, or someone else, for one or more position, please email your nomination to LUGOD's secretary at: firstname.lastname@example.org [mailto:email@example.com].
Nominations will be accepted until November 19th, and elections will being starting at November's meeting. (Note: It's been 6 years since we've had to vote — usually no more than one candidate gets chosen per position — but if we do, it will take place online between the November and December meetings.) See our Bylaws [http://www.lugod.org/objectives/bylaws.html] for more.
Note: We are in particular need of a new treasurer, as Greg has recently moved to southern California.
