Meeting Minutes

Jason and Ramona Howard
SpectSoft, LLC

Davis Public Library

Photos by Bill Kendrick

Ramona and Jason setting up for their presentation.

An HDTV adapter that they use.

Their RaveHD software displays an interface on one monitor, and the video on another, so we set up two projectors.

Before the presentation, Bob Ulius showed a very cool remote control that he thought members would find interesting.

A shot from Starship Troopers 2, projected onto the wall.

Jason and Ramona begin their talk.

SpectSoft is a mother-and-son(-and-father) team.

Jason discusses the company.

The RaveHD software; an interface to preview High Definition video clips, which are fed from a hard drive array.

A slightly closer view of the RaveHD interface.

Jason shows some hardware.

Jason showing the HDTV adapter used to project the HD video.

Lots of questions were asked by the audience.

A list of 'assetts' (clips) in the RaveHD interface (written using Trolltech's "Qt" GUI libraries)

A thumbnail preview of a clip.

While not meant for editing, RaveHD allows clips to be arranged, so movie editors can try out different sequences.
