We had a great turnout, lots of interest in Monday's <a href="http://www.lugod.org/meeting/">anniversary meeting</a>, and at least one new Tux Paint fan.  ]]></description>

Nominations will be accepted until November 20th, and elections will being starting at November's meeting.     <description><![CDATA[We had a relatively small, but lively crowd show up for our short-notice bonus meeting last night, to learn about Linux on satellites and CubeSat, and to digress into a conversation on artificial intelligence. (<a href="http://www.lugod.org/photos/2011.01.11/">Photos</a>, <a href="http://www.lugod.org/meeting/past/2011.01.01.php">minutes</a>.)<br/> <br/> <a href="http://www.lugod.org/meeting/"><img src="/bday_cake.png" align=left width=50 height=49 alt="[birthday cake]" border=0 /></a> This coming Monday, we'll be celebrating our 12th anniversary (<a href="http://www.lugod.org/documents/history/beginning.txt">how we formed</a>) with free pizza, cake, drinks, and some books to give away (thanks, <a href="http://www.oreilly.com/">O'Reilly Media</a>!). <br/> <br/> Mark Terranova, from the Bay Area non-profit <a href="http://www.gidgetkitchen.org/">The Gidget Kitchen</a>, will be there to talk about how Free and Open Source communities compare to cults (seriously!).
