My Dell laptop came with Ubuntu (and hence Gnome), so I installed
KDE with some 'aptitutde install' incantations. Google's your friend.
Kubuntu.org probably is, too. :)
(I don't want to guess, and get you stuck with a half-working desktop :^D )
