I'd like to build a collection of informative 'why Linux?' and
'why Open Source?' documents (they'll need to be short - 1-2 pagers)
for LUGOD to pass out at the Whole Earth Festival.

This one, which was just mentioned on Slashdot, is looking good
(I haven't read all of it yet):

And I'll probably whip up a short "quotes / sources" document based on
the collection of stuff I have on my page here:

  http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/bill/microsoft/

e.g., little tidbits, like:

"'I did not give Microsoft permission to know what files I am searching
for on my local hard-drive.' ... [When] I performed an Internet search,
the [Search Assistant] sent my search terms to the Microsoft site"
