[vox] save the landfills -- old computers for free

hey all,

i was contacted by a school administrator somewhere north east of
sacramento who has a whole bunch of PI's and even PII/233's that are
going into the garbage. the stuff works flawlessly.

he contacted me about the prospect of finding homes for these potential
firewall/routers (although a PII is prolly still a desktop system).
presumably, there are accoutraments like hard drives, monitors, mice and
keyboards (although i'm not sure about this).

he wants to remain anonymous because giving this stuff away is against
school policy and he could conceivably get in trouble doing this.
otoh, having this stuff go into landfill, while legal, is just stupid.

i'm trying to gauge interest:

#1) who here would be interested in such a system?

#2) who would be willing to pick this stuff up?

this is a bit north of roseville, so the drive is non-trivial. but it's
not horrendous either.

any takers for #1 and/or #2?

pete
