i already know about that.  actually, i have it macro'd to the home key.

i was talking about the >, >>, >>>, collection of tabs/space
combinations in front of the lines and the format characters which look
like they came from a word document.

didn't want to take the time to get rid of all them.

i'm *extremely* proficient with vim.  i'm also extremely lazy.   :)
