thanks for all the responses -- i'm glad i asked.   that kind of sucks -
check this out:


the picutre makes the depth look maybe 1/4 of the height.  but if you look at
"physical dimensions" down the page, the monitor is as deep as it is high:
19 inches.  there's almost no way that the monitor could be 19" deep from
the picture.

i guess it could be a screwy angle, but i'm thinking they prolly used gimp
(or whatever) to "shave off" the back of the monitor.  the background *is*
white.   and the shading underneath the monitor looks a little funny...

anyway, thanks for the good replies!
