Not that I've heard.  It works fine for me with KDE 2.2.1,
3.0.0 and 3.0.2.

> Debian 3.0

Maybe it would tell you something to boot to runlevel 3 and look
at stdout/stderr from X (e.g. "startx > startx.out 2>&1").
