gcc, make (or gmake), and gdb respectively.
A good starting point for info on GNU software is
http://www.gnu.org/software/software.html#DescriptionsOfGNUSoftware
Hopefully, you'll convert from the dark side once you've tasted the
greatness of these tools. 8-)
