Re: [vox-outreach] [fwd] (Re: GNUWinII 2.3 discs from Cheapbytes)

Let's go with GNUWin II 2.3, even though it is 'beta'. There are important version upgrades for many of software packages. For example, 2.2 has OO.o 1.0, but 2.3 has OO.o 1.1, which I know is an important improvement. I burned GNUWinII last night and checked it out. It seems fine, and I was able to install TuxPaint onto WinXP.

P.S. The tuxpaint stamps are not included on the GWII 2.3 CD :(

Looks like 2.3 is 'beta', whereas 2.2 is the latest.
However, Cheapbytes can produce 2.3 discs for us if we want.

Reviewing the following URL shows 2.2 is still the current
version for the ISO image RELEASED version. If you want
to go with the 2.3 BETA version, we can accomodate that.

Let us know what you would like to do.

I just heard that GNUWinII version 2.3 has come out recently.
Seeing as 2.2 is over a year old, getting 2.3 definitely seems a no-brainer.

However, it sounds like it's pretty new. Would it be possible to get those burned? (Prob. 200 qty.; the other 300 of our order of 500 discs would be Knoppix)

Thx in advance,
