BTW - Further discussion should probably go to this list, vox-outreach...

I can't really afford the huge amount of space it's taking, but I'm
currently downloading it to my FTP site on my ISP account (at Sonic.net,
located in Santa Rosa).

If anyone's having trouble pulling from the FTP mirrors, e-mail me
privately and I'll give you an URL to download the ISO from my account.
(I don't want too many people doing it, because at some point it'll
start costing me in bandwidth, too... not just disk quota :^) )

Thanks! If you can make it out to LUGOD's meeting on Tuesday (Oct 7th)
at UC Davis ( http://www.lugod.org/meeting/euii/ ), we'd be happy to help
spread them around Davis/Sacramento, too.

We'll be at the Internet Software Security Association (ISSA)'s big
conference in Sacramento in early November, so having a batch to give
out would be good. [ http://www.issa-sac.org/conferences/2003/ ]

Also, local OOo Marketing guy, Paul Miller, might be able to get Sun to
give him copies, or something. They helped us at the
Government Technology Conference (GTC) in May...

I should talk to folks like DCN to see if they know any schools in the
area that would be willing to accept such help.

OSEF had literally 100s or maybe even 1000s of copies of Knoppix for Kids
professionally pressed (not burned), labelled, and enveloped (stiff paper).

I think at those kinds of quantities, prices start getting pretting
reasonable. Definitely quicker to spend a little cash on a huge quantity,
than end up spending about as much, but tons more TIME for less professional
looking stuff.

Sweet! :) Kinkos just sent LUGOD a 25% discount card (cuz we're a non-profit)
that's good through the end of the year. Perhaps I can take advantage of
it for this...

I'd like to help. Better yet, I'd love for someone ELSE to help! :)

Thanks so much, Lincoln!
