Subject: [SVLUG-Jobs] Job posting for the Linux Foundation

The Linux Foundation ( <http://www.linux-foundation.org)>
www.linux-foundation.org) is currently looking to hire a talented
Technical Sales Engineer/Evangelist. Please see the job description
below. If you have an interest in this position please send your
resume to: kbretz at kbretz.com .

--

The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit consortium, does not build Linux,
nor does it compete with existing Linux companies but rather helps its
membership companies change their corner of the world by providing
services -including legal protection, standardization, promotion and
collaboration - which will give Linux the greatest ubiquity possible.

Currently we are actively seeking an experienced Linux specialist to
work as Sales Engineering/Evangelist to collaborate with the Linux
Standards Base workgroup and the ISVs to engage ISVs into the LSB
certification program ("do the handholding") as well as selling the
concept of using the Linux standard. In addition, the role will
oversee the content generation for the "Linux Developer Network" of
the Linux Foundation, targeted at ISVs to enable them to develop LSB
applications. .

Location:

* San Francisco Bay Area preferred (telecommuting possible)

Requirements for this position include:

* Strong technical knowledge in Linux, Open Source Software (OSS)

* Good communication skills with customers, and the extended Linux
  community

* Excellent presentation skills and a passion for open source products

* Proven ability to write clear, accurate technical documentation as
  well as editorial content.

* Strong follow up skills and a proactive approach to engaging with
  ISVs in the effort

* Solid coding skills in C/C++ and knowledge of other programming
  languages

* An ability to work well in a virtual team environment and possess
strong communication and leadership skills. The candidate must be a
self-starter who can take ownership of opportunities and involve the
necessary resources to drive Linux implementation.

Other:

* Telecommuting

* Benefits go far beyond basic

* Salaries are competitive

* Requirements also include traveling up to 30% based on location
