[vox-jobs] Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Sunnyvale, CA

Senior Embedded Software Engineer   - Sunnyvale, CA
Become part of an exciting new media industry. This is a friendly, non-political environment that will not disappoint you. I would like to arrange one-on-one meetings between the V.P. of Engineering and any qualified candidate. Not a round of interviews, just a meeting for you to see if this is your next job.
Be part of a market leading company that offers a broad suite of open, standards-based products that provide the highest-quality digital TV solutions, including IPTV, HDTV, video on demand, advertising on demand, IPTV and interactive TV applications. All of which are designed to maximize service offerings and generate greater returns on network investment.
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for developing the next generation media processing routers. Experience with digital video headend product development (MPEG encoders, transport stream multiplexers, demultiplexers, transraters) is highly desirable but not necessary. The focus of the position is VxWorks BSP and device driver development.
Qualifications:
-    BS/MS on Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
-    Experience with VxWorks device drivers (both END and character)
-    VxWorks BSP development experience on either x86 or PowerPC processors
-    The candidate should be a strong system programmer, with a working knowledge of the internals of complex operation systems, using 32/64 bit CPUs and virtual memory. Must be familiar with multi-processor programming, comfortable with task scheduling, locks, mutexes, semaphores
-    Candidate must be able to analyze existing large code base and optimize it for performance
-    Strong C, C++ code writing capabilities
-    Must have experience working on Pentium platform, knowledge of PCI is required
-    A strong understanding of MPEG standards (MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.26x) and DVB standards is desirable
-    A strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP forwarding, BSD sockets, IP multicasting is required
-    Work with the QA department as required

Please contact me at Anthony [at] chancellor [dot] com to discuss further - you will not be disappointed.
Or if you would prefer, phone Anthony at 415-332-0123.

Principals only please. Only on-site work. The company will sponsor for H1-B transfers (not new H-1Bs). We can only respond to individuals with the experience and qualifications most closely matching the requirements of this position.

Best regards, Anthony
