Jr. or Sr. System Engineer, Boston, MA | 40-85k

My client is a leading media and marketing services company catering to
the youth and multicultural audience.  Their primary customers are major
entertainment, consumer products and technology companies looking to
advertise to the youth demographic.  They own and operate youth-focused
media assets as well as provide promotional and placement agency
services to their client base. 

The System Engineer will be one of a small group of individuals
responsible for scaling and maintaining the website infrastructure. 

Responsibilities: 

* System Monitoring: Extending existing tools to measure system health
and anticipate bottlenecks 
* System Maintenance: Improving software, system security, and backups 
* Architecture Growth: Creating tools to allow for quick expansion of
the site 
* New Application Collaboration: Advising the development team on ways
to make new features optimally use the underlying infrastructure 

Qualifications: 
	
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
* Very strong Linux skills required 
* Experience writing backend scripts 
* Passionate about building a high availability, large-scale system 
* Strong problem solving and diagnostic skills, and consistent attention
to detail 
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts based on changing goals 
* Ability to function independently with only general guidance 
* Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly 
* Excited to work in a flexible, demanding, and fast-paced environment
