Linux Applications Engineer
Company Summary:
The hiring company is integrating accurate,
personalized roadway traffic information with a low-cost navigation solution to
inform drivers of the quickest route and estimated time of arrival, whether on
their way to a client meeting, for metropolitan-wide fleet management, or for a
daily commute. The services leverage an inexpensive in-vehicle device with GPS
to self-generate optimized roadway traffic data from users as "floating
car" probes, and patent-pending wireless networking capabilities to
minimize wireless communication costs. Company has Tier 1 funding from Silicon
Valley’s largest VCs: Kleiner and Sequoia.
Responsibilities:
·
Develop production level code for a high volume consumer
appliance
·
Design and implement a framework to test and improve
software functional behavior
·
Create utilities that assist contract manufacturing,
device diagnostics, software installation and configuration
·
Review and optimize current implementation
Key Requirements
·
Proficient with C, GCC, GDB, Linux, shell scripting
·
Expert knowledge of embedded tools, cross-compilation,
cross-development
·
Professional experience with embedded firmware, kernel and
file system tradeoffs and design choices
·
Advanced degree in CS or CE
Experience, Technical Knowledge and Skills:
·
6+ years developing application software for embedded
devices
·
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·
Self-motivated, detail oriented and self-directed
·
Team player
