[vox-jobs] Re: Freedom Fry's is like no Fry's at All

Since it sounds like you are looking for non-emergency paid help, I am cc'ing your email over to our jobs email list "vox-jobs". I am not on that list, and so I am not sure what type of traffic it has. To get free help and advice, you may join our technical list "vox-tech" (http://lugod.org/mailinglists/) or come to an installfest (http://lugod.org/if/). Also, we would love to see you at a LUGOD meeting.

As for your immediate issue, it is true that almost no hardware comes with Linux drivers. Fortunately, most hardware is supported by drivers available in the Linux kernel. Network cards and cdrw driver are generally well supported.

Hi, I have a LINUX box running a REDHAT 7 and a hybrid
XP/LINUX box running, I think, some worked over
version of CERN LINUX.
The REDHAT 7 box needs a net card put in and for
backups I need a CDRW installed.
I went to Fry's in Sac last night and got run around
for two hours until I finally gave up. Evidently no
body bundles LINUX drivers in any hardware.

Where can I have my LINUX boxes serviced? I also want
to find people who are into doing really high end
simulation work for physics and medical physics
projects. I have modest money for support and to buy

I live in SAC but I have a new lab for medical physics
and physics projects in Vallejo at the Touro
University campus.

Thanks for your help...Gene

Is there anyone who could work on my 7 computer right
