[vox-jobs] Unix, kernel project in the South Bay, CA



I am emailing you guys because I work for a recruiting firm in Sunnyvale, and we currently have a client in the south bay that needs a consultant for the following project(s)....will most likely bring on two consultants:
 
Required
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Proficient with C on UNIX/FreeBSD/Linux

Desirable
• Familiar with OS internals and kernel-level programming
• Experience with Linux or FreeBSD device drivers
• Understanding of storage systems (RAID, SAN) and
        interfaces (SCSI, fiberchannel, TCP/IP networking)
• Experience with UNIX file systems
• Experience with Intel-based server architecture
• Experience with HP Proliant servers and MSA/EVA SAN storage

Task Set #1
   1) Integrate vendor-supplied health monitoring binaries for
      new HW platform into FreeBSD-based operating
      system
       - Produce and execute detailed task list and test plan
       - Interface with vendor to resolve issues
   2) Test LAN driver and measure LAN interface performance
   3) Qualification testing of HP MSA SAN storage with new
      HW platform and related bug fixing (if any)

Task Set #2
   1) Integrate vendor-supplied RAID administration binaries for
      new HW platform into FreeBSD-based operating system
       - Produce and execute detailed task list and test plan
       - Interface with vendor to resolve issues
   2) Cspecmail benchmark performance testing
   3) Modify OS install disk to support new HW platform
