Job Description : 

Acuitrek, the leading provider of Risk Analysis and Policy Management
software for the public agency insurance industry, has an immediate
opening for a Lead Developer / Software Architect.  This is a unique
opportunity to get in on the ground floor to build a rules based
insurance policy management system. 

You will drive general software architecture for major subsystems for
the Acuitrek application. Design, develop, code, and implement
software components and features utilizing Acuitrek application
products and tools. Design and build complex functionality using a
combination of tools including, but not limited to: C#, ASP.Net,
ADO.Net, Web Services, SQL Server, and XML. Responsibilities include
defining and enforcing software engineering standards, functional and
technical design, construction, and testing. 

Essential Duties : 

1. Perform technical design, including overall architectural product
design of a large system, define design patterns for re-use, identify
off-the-shelf components for product usage. Perform database design
to support product-specific features. Apply very deep expertise and
involvement in specific product areas. 
2. Perform complex development with system, unit, and platform
testing and bug resolution assuring high quality scalable
architectural design, user interface, processes and code. 
3. Analyze detailed functional requirements to gain understanding of
proposed feature enhancements. Provide development estimates for
assigned requirements. Provide feedback to management on impact of
new features to existing product architecture 
5. Define design, user interface style guidelines, and programming
standards for use by other developers. Participate in design and code
reviews for other developers - verify compliance to standards. 

Skills and Education Required : 
· B.S. in Computer Science (or related field); MS in related field
preferred 
· 6-8 years of technical experience in a software development
environment 
· Thorough technical knowledge in software development methodologies,
design and implementation 
· Strong analytical and design skills at a multiple product level 
· Strong skills in research and analysis, and implementation 
· Experience with and participation in entire development process,
including specification, documentation, and quality assurance 
· Thorough understanding of computer science tools, methods,
platforms and operating systems 
· Thorough understanding of client-server and internet technology 
· 4+ Years of relational database applications and SQL. MS SQL Server
2000 preferred 
· 4+ Years of C++. MS .Net experience highly preferred. 
· Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal
skills 
· Ability to apply programming tools, languages and algorithms to
solve complex product challenges and problems 

- Knowledge of insurance applications such as policy management,
claims processing, and billing engines is desirable.
