[vox-jobs] linux machines and beowulf cluster support at UC Davis

Hello There,

I am looking for someone to help with a couple LINUX clusters (16 node, 10
node) and workstations (10 or so)...
Preferably an undergraduate from UC Davis but will talk to others as well.

Both software and hardware knowledge is desirable. Work mostly consits of:

- system software upgrades and installations (mostly RedHat),
- system trouble shooting (rare events),
- installing some commercial software (exotic compilers and programming tools),
- maintenance of a production parallel computer (Beowulf type cluster)
- networking, both local (for the cluster) and a bit wider scale including
installation and testing of the globus.org grid computing networks (already
installed, needs maintenance...) and connection to a large parallel machine at
  LBL
- hardware upgrades every once in a while,

Office space is available, and pay is negotiable (although I have to follow some
UC guidelines). Working hours are flexible and I anticipate a need for couple of
hours a day for next couple of weeks at least with a change later (possibly less
or more) depending on the needs of the research projects we get involved with.

Interested folks can email me at jeremic@ucdavis.edu.

Thanks, Boris
