Details of Vacancy:

The Systems Administrator II position will require the following:
Provide primary support for enterprise backup hardware and software.
Assist with the design, deployment and ongoing support of next generation
of backup systems (SAN). Verify the integrity of ongoing backups, proper
storage and policy compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve problems as
required 24x7. Restore data losses as needed. Advise on proactive
maintenance and failure avoidance strategies. Manage backup processes
utilizing the Operations team for process and monitoring support.
Manage/maintain enhance Corporate desktop backup program. Assist with
supporting disaster recovery and information security projects when
required. Participate in scheduled maintenance and new system installs and
upgrades. Represent ESO on projects and attend project team meetings as
required. Provide advanced (third-level) technical support for developing
and maintaining the backup architecture. Troubleshoot, track and resolve
issues involving backups/restores for both the server and client. This
includes reviewing log files and providing status reports. Lead efforts to
test, upgrade, migrate and deploy hardware, operating systems and
applications. Lead efforts or participate on corporate wide desktop backup
project implementation and maintenance. Participate in, and in some cases,
lead efforts for disaster recovery exercises relating to the backup and
restoration of data. Create and update support documentation as required.
Work with, and in some cases lead, project teams for Enterprise System
Operations initiatives. Backup and support other system administrators
with workload. Participate in the semi-monthly downtime night performing
upgrades, installations, etc. Provide on call support for Operations staff
during escalation. Other duties as assigned.  Requirements Solid
knowledge of UNIX and Legato Networker. Working knowledge of networking,
LDAP and IP protocols. Solid decision making and problem solving skills.
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Project Management skills.
3-5 years experience working with UNIX (Tru64, Solaris, or HP preferred)
performing system administration, operating system maintenance and
support, shell scripting, etc. 3-5 years experience working with backup
systems (Legato and StorageTek preferred). 3-5 years experience supporting
enterprise-wide applications including installations, upgrades, and
migrations. 1-2 years experience working with large scale desktop backup
implementation program. Strong problem ownership skills and the ability to
function in high stress situations. Experience with SAN technology a plus.
BS or greater in Computer Science prefer
