(Doors open at 6:00pm; please try to arrive on-time!)
The meeting will be held at our normal location:
Davis Library
315 East 14th Street
Davis, CA 95616
The topic will be:
The 'New' C: C99
presented by: Micah Cowan
C99 is the new edition of the ISO/IEC standard defining the C programming
language. Many new features have been added: some are based on features
present in C++; some on common vendor extensions; and some are wildly
different. Micah will be discussing the major changes which have been
made to the language in this latest specifications.
Almost no implementations fully support the new standard as yet, but it is
hoped that this talk will help prepare you for what's around the corner,
and to help you write forward-compatible C code.
A fundamental knowledge of the C programming language will be assumed.
