[vox-announce] tonight's meeting

hello lugod,

i just wanted to tell everyone that tonight's meeting will be a real
treat. francois gouget from crossover will be talking to lugod.

froncios is with "codeweavers", the company that is using wine to bring
certain technologies to linux when microsoft based companies refuse to
support linux. for example, crossover office will let you run MS office
on your linux box (if that's really your desire). their crossover
plugin supports browser plugins that haven't been ported to linux based

the thing that makes it noteworthy is the packaging. zero set up on the
user's part, i believe. you install the thing and it does it's job.
not like wine, which _can_ take a bit of fiddling around with (although
that's beginning to change too).

in fact, i believe francois is a wine developer, and may talk about the
wine/rewind split over licensing, which is a very bitter tale and
somewhat of an embarrasment to everyone involved.

so for anyone who has an interest in running windows apps on linux, or
has an interest in wine, or has interest in the wine/rewind/winex
debacle, this meeting should be a very good one to attend.

this guy is a hardcore programmer for wine and codeweavers, so bring
your questions with you to the meeting. :)
