[vox-announce] Dec. 17th LUGOD Meeting: Sharp's "Zaurus" Linux/Java PDA
The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

The Sharp SL-5000 ("Zaurus") Linux/Java-based PDA
presented by: Bill Kendrick
The Sharp SL-5000D (aka Zaurus) is a new PDA running Linux.
It runs on a 206Mhz StrongARM CPU and has 16MB of built-in flash storage,
32MB of RAM, compact flash and secure digital expansion slots for memory
and peripherals, 240x320 (3.5") 16-bit color front-lit LCD display, and
even a built-in miniature QWERTY keyboard which can be hidden away.
It includes an embeded version of Trolltech's 'Qt' graphical toolkit,
the 'Jeode' implementation of Sun's PersonalJava Application Environment,
and an embeded version of the popular 'Opera' web browser.
