[vox-announce] July 3 LUGOD Meeting: Regular Expressions

The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD), will be holding a meeting on:

  Tuesday
  July 3, 2001
  6:30pm - 9:30pm

The meeting will be held at:

  Z-World, Inc.
  2900 Spafford Street
  Davis, CA 95616

The topic will be:

  Regular Expressions
  presented by Henry House

A "regular expression" is an extremely powerful way to express how a
computer program should search for a specified pattern of text.

Its most common uses are by Unix command-line shells, with the
traditional Unix "grep" text-searching tool, in the programming languages
like Perl and C, and in many text editors and development environments.
